Dear Committee members,

I am writing to respond to :

‘This discussion document considers what more can be done and how best to tackle rogue landlords, without negatively impacting on the good ones.

I would love to contribute some common sense information from the point of view of a lifelong private tenant. I was only recently blessed with sufficient misfortune to qualify for social housing and we now live, slightly overcrowded, in an Accent Peerless housing association flat.

I was born in 1977, I’ve seen a few variations in housing policy and can give you a little basic feedback. With all due respect, such service user insights and interests must have been glaringly omitted in order for you to pose the above as matter for discussion. The solution is so obvious my thirteen year old daughter could see it….

What you need to do, to find out who the really bad landlords are is…..and I promise to keep it very simple…

Ask
the
Tenants

And make sure, if you are a landlord yourself, not to be one of the naughty ones?!

Just a thought, keep pedalling boys.

Xx
